Survey of two nurseries immersed for 1 month in the marina and in the Dives estuary
As a reminder, on July 6 the marinas and fishing ports of Dives-Cabourg-Houlgate were awarded the Blue Flag for the 9th consecutive year.
Beyond this symbolic gesture, the label represents a strong commitment on the part of the ports, which initiate actions throughout the year as part of an environmental management plan.
The plan's 3 objectives include the creation of 2 nurseries: one in the marina and the second in the Dives estuary.
Made from recycled materials, these "cages", in which empty scallops are stored, are designed to allow juveniles, alvins, shrimps, small crabs... to hide and continue their development, limiting access to larger predators.

The aim of this initiative, which is essentially educational, is to raise public awareness of marine biodiversity, which is sometimes unsuspected in a marina, and of the water quality that supports the development of juvenile fish, as well as the recycling and reuse of waste.
