Celebrating freedom regained in 1944
On June 6, in Normandy, our liberators came by sea. On June 08, 2024, we'll be celebrating freedom and peace on the sea. We'll sail past Juno Beach and disembark in front of the Maison des Canadiens in Bernières.
Smooth sailing
We'll be rowing and sailing: rafts, dories, canoes, kayaks, paddles, windsurfers, kites, wings, dinghies, catamarans, coastal cruisers, old rigs... Environmentally-friendly sailing and organization.
Canned shipping
La Berniéraise, a joint project of the Courseulles, Luc, Langrune, St-Aubin and Bernières yacht clubs, is open to all. You take part in a fleet, with a captain and at least two boats sailing together. Each fleet is responsible for its own safety, and chooses its own schedule and route to reach the La Berniéraise navigation zone.
Responsible navigation
Everyone sails under their own responsibility and undertakes to assist the other. Everyone must respect the safety rules and instructions of the fleet captains. To take part, please register: Registration.
A superb show
Boats sail in front of the Maison des Canadiens (between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.). Four highlights: the start of the Navigation de Conserve des Rameurs (10:30 am), the disembarkation of the Rameurs and Voileux (11:30 am), a Grand Pique-Nique Festif bringing together sailors and spectators (12 pm) and the Grand Embarquement (1:30 pm).
Festive sailing
No rankings. No entry fees, thanks to our partners and volunteers. But a great atmosphere! So join us on Saturday, June 08, 2024, on the water and on the beach, to celebrate peace and freedom!
